I really like this book!!! It was sad though cause it's about her being in a work camp during World War 2.

I love it when I find a book that teaches me something about a topic that I know very little about. This is a time in history where I understand the basics but I didn't realize how many young people were forced to work for the Nazis and the terrible conditions that they were kept in. This is a great book for showing what it was like to live in Germany but not be a part of the culture.

Not many times will you find a book such as good as this one. The book was honestly just the most amazing book i have ever read in my life.

Set back in the time when Hitler was running Germany and the Big World War II. A young girl Lida and her sister Larissa were taken from Nazi soldiers and set to a camp were they were later Separated from each other but Lida cannot escape the Horrors of this time. When she was at the camps she always thought about were her sister could be. Lida’s friends she makes on the way come and some mostly end up dead because of the Nazis. This Book is mainly about what happens to the Kids and not the adults when Nazis capture people as slaves.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book for ages 13+ because of how much blood and gore is described very detailed. But also because it's an amazing book and you should give it a look.
(Keep in mind im a Sophomore and I really enjoy the book)

I highly recommend this fictionalized account of factual events as a read-aloud for Grade 4 and up.

I loved this book so much its one of my favorites.

I should really have read this book before Stolen Child, but I guess either way works. In a war-torn country under Hitler's rule, children are placed under supervision to make bombs in a factory. Lida is a Ukrainian girl who is determined to find out what happened to her sister, all the while trying to survive in her own harsh surroundings. She and her friends are truly inspirational in which they try to sabotage the bombs that they are making, to stop destruction. This story is really a reflection on what many in dark times had to go through, and it really pulls on your heart strings. The sorrow will really change how you view aspects in life, that we so frequently take for granted. 4/5 stars

my class when i was in grade five did not get to vote for the best book, and no one in our schools knew who won. if our class got to vote with stars on each book, 5 STARS FROM ME!!! i loved it
