Gives insight into the origins of Aquaman. Fantastic art work. Many plot twists. This novel really engages the reader.

The art work still makes the book worth the borrowing, but the story has plunged into the depths of endless cliches. Misunderstandings with loved ones, Aquaman insisting he must do this alone, the team not letting him, Aquaman swearing he will KILL!!! Black Manta but of course you know how that ends up. The next arc probably follows up on the Atlantis connection so maybe it will be better.

This wasn't my favourite Aquaman arc. It depicts Arthur with his team before he joined the Justice League - The Others. It does add some interesting backstory to mine in the New 52 Universe.

I had forgotten the greatness of Geoff Johns and, to be honest (having fallen into the cadre of folks who make fun of Aquaman as a super-hero), never even paid attention to the credits. Even after starting to read the book (out of curiosity) I was still skeptical of how good the book might turn out to be.
However, I was impressed by the artwork so I continued reading and, as I went along, was able to enjoy a well-written tale that was able to show what Aquaman is capable of. Under-estimate him at your peril.
A well-written exciting adventure mostly on land (for those who thought he could only operate in the ocean.
Once again Geoff Johns has delivered!

Second volume of the reboot, this collection loses some of the momentum of the first collection. Aquaman and Mera find themselves caught up with a group of superhumans he once associated with as the entire group copes with the threat posed by Black Manta. Considering how long Aquaman seemed to have little purpose before the reboot, this book is still a surprise from the New 52 in that it does give him focus. And the art works well for the series.
