I came across this book a decade ago when I was seeking to understand my body better. It has become a useful reference guide since. Dr. Northrup takes a wholistic approach to women's health that is rooted in mind-body wellness. This books utilizes years of experience from her medical practice, it educates and empowers.

Whether you want to understand how hormones work in the female body, how to do a breast self exam, what kind of questions to ask your doctor during a visit, how to listen to signs and symptoms from your body, the role that nutrition plays in overall health, useful supplements etc., this books has a lot to offer.

Here is a taste, 'Creating vibrant health means accepting that there are events in everyone's life that cannot be explained or changed, and at the same time realizing that each of us has a conscious input into our state of health through choosing relationships, thoughts, foods, and activities that support and nourish us fully'.
