Wow is this bad. Gossip girl meets DC comics. Truly unappealing actors portraying fringe/ boring DC characters. Preposterous plots and 6th grade dialogue . There isnt one character I like in this whole show. Worse than Arrow and in the same universe. CANT ANYONE DO COMICS ON TV RIGHT ????? UGH !!!!! even as a teen I would have hated this. Not one of the cast has any charisma at all. how did they become actors ????

I really wanted to like this show, but I just couldn't keep watching. I forced myself to watch through the two part premier, and then watched the second episode because sometimes shows take a bit to find their footing. Some of the acting is pretty stiff. Some is quite good. You're going to get that in a huge ensemble show that is low budget like this - you can't afford that many great actors. That said, it really isn't the actors, it is the writing that is the worst. Even great actors can't make horrible writing work. SPOILER ALERT!!!! The final straw for me was in the second episode when Rip Hunter "kills" Vandal Savage & Savage tells him he is going to heal and come back, blah, blah, blah and Hunter gathers up his teammates and they leave to search of Savage in future after he's come back. They know Savage will come back because he's immortal. How in the world do they not cut off Savage's head, encase it in concrete, encase his severed body in melted steel, and keep both of those things locked in some kind of prison? He's a Time Lord - imprison the man's unhealed body in a future inescapable prison. Something. This idea of "let's get back to the ship and figure out when he returned" idea is just pathetic writing to keep the story line going. When writers are that lazy, I'm not really interested in continuing a show. That's why I gave it 1.5 stars.

This isn't The Flash or Supergirl. But it still has some good points. Some of the characters are definitely better than others. We enjoyed seeing Arthur Darvill, Doctor Who's Rory, play a time lord himself. Brandon Routh as The Atom does well. The effects are mostly good. Some episodes are definitely better than others. It did take a while to buy into but I don't regret watching it and will watch the next season.
