"This graphic novel adapted by Raina Telgemeier, the #1 New York Times bestselling, multiple Eisner Award-winning author of Smile, is now available in full color! Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey are best friends and founding members of The Baby-sitters Club. Whatever comes up — cranky toddlers, huge dogs, scary neighbors, prank calls — you can count on them to save the day. Baby-sitting isn't always easy, and neither is dealing with strict parents, new families, fashion emergencies, and mysterious secrets. But no matter what, the BSC have what they need most: friendship. Raina Telgemeier, using the signature style featured in her acclaimed graphic novels Smile and Sisters, perfectly captures all the drama and humor of the original novel!"

I read Ann M. Martin's original novels as a tween and early teen, and they make up some of my fondest childhood memories. I have seen these new editions in my library for a while now and when I finally reached a good pausing point in my huge stack of books, I decided why not intersperse these into it? Relive some of those memories!

This first graphic novel, retelling how the BSC was formed and how the four original girls came together to form the club, was just amazing! The artwork is sensational - some of the characters' expressions made me laugh really hard! - and Telgemeier did an excellent job adapting the original story for this different format.

A delight to read and wonderful in inspiring me to remember my childhood!

Meh. Not as good as I expected. Too pathetic. Way too pathetic. I like the illustrations though.
I rate it 5/10

I liked this book as it was the first baby sitters club that I read in the series. I like to learn about how the baby-sitters club started.

Kristy had an idea about making a baby-sitting club. She tells her friends about it and they likes the idea. Her friends are Claudia, Mary Anne, and Stacy, but they Stacy is a new friend because she just moved from New York. Kristy didn't like her mom's boyfriend because she just doesn't like him She never wanted to baby-sit his kids. When she baby-sat them one time, she loved them and they loved her too. They didn't want her to go. That teaches a lesson that you shouldn't judge people before you know them. The graphic novel is fun and funny. Enjoy!
