It was just good enough that we did not turn off and we decided it was the action that kept our interest . One of the very best parts in the movie was the humor provided towards the end.
The big gorillas made a couple of hand gestures aimed at his lifetime keeper which were done in jest and showed how close they were and they understood each other.

This was an okay movie, not the best.

This is a predictable mash-up of King Kong and Godzilla and a heck of a lot of other movies too. That said, Dwayne Johnson is always fun to watch—and this time with an excellent costar Naomie Harris.
Weak script, plot, and nothing is very logical. Certain ideas don't line up and neither do certain characters. Totally overacted villains and mostly every scene was just one predictable cringe-fest. It's a bit pathetic and a bit thrilling at the same time. There's plenty of humour to divert the critics and plenty of big booming action.
It isn't something I'd watch again, but it isn't entirely horrible either. No big dilemmas or shocking plot twists, just a plain old simple Dwayne movie. It's one Rampage of effects, quips, and gore (see what I did there?)

Cartoonish live action cheesy romp with poorly executed computer generated images (CGI) and over the top villains. It was so bad, it was good, mainly because, well, "The Rock" is in it, with a little bit of Joe Manganiello, and a lot of wickedly droll Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Who doesn't love, "The Rock"?
He makes this movie watchable.

It's like Sharknado; it's a movie that's trying to be a bad, corny, cheesy movie. And like Sharknado, it's unwatchable. The actors are really hamming it up, except the Rock who is basically the same guy in every film. The military is especially stupid and ignorant in this film. For once, I'd like to see them actually show some military intelligence. They keep shooting the monsters with the same guns and expect a different result. That is the definition of insanity.

Excellent and fun movie that you can't get bored re-watching. It was so good that I just purchased this movie on the cineplex site and won't be borrowing it from here again. The Rock did an outstanding performance and the movie was a real fun ride. 5/5 stars.

Suspend disbelief and go along for the ride. It's a bit of a ridiculous romp, the Rock is as entertaining as always. He's used his witty charm better in other roles, yet wields it well enough to carry this movie. I rated it 3 stars only because it is entertaining as a disaster-style movie. If you are looking for a more intellectual script or better human drama, by all means, get a different movie! But if you like movies like San Andreas, then you will likely enjoy this one as well. A final note about something I just had to let go of in order to enjoy the film: There are critical errors in the movie's own mythology [SPOILER ALERT] for example, why does George (the ape) not develop similar abnormal biological "enhancements" as the other two 'monsters' (or get as large as them)? The answer is because it helps the audience stay connected to George by not making him into more of a grotesque biological deformation - but it completely violates the mythology the film-makers created.

Larger than life big monster movie that has no moral or ethical dilemmas. Monsters big. Monsters kill. Dwayne Johnson the tiny human finds way to get in the fight. This is like a homage to old school overgrown 1960s monsters Godzilla and Mothra.
Just big fun violent monsters.
