Great movie. I don't even like Mel Gibson either.

It was a great movie. It has some violent scenes, though. Highly recommended.

Not a terrible movie. Worth a watch if you haven't any better way to spend the time.

Epic and long, and probably expensive to make. This film will appeal to those with the right time budget and a craving for a war drama of this nature and background.

I agree with the previous comment that this is the same as braveheart just filmed in america. Mel Gibson acting style does not change. Whether it's Lethal Weapon, Braveheart or Patriot, it's like he plays the same character. He get's pushed to the edge and then goes all psycho on his enemy. I think he even did the famous head but fight scene he's done in other movies. Also, if your watching this film for historical purposes, read this article:http://entertainment.time.com/2011/01/26/top-10-historically-misleading-films/ - See more at: http://clevnet.bibliocommons.com/item/show/6479320048#sthash.5aQq1Ecd.dpuf

this is a very good movie. Mel Gibson was the best! there is no cheesy lines. but there is more than enough gore in this.

Basically "Braveheart" set during the Revolution. Less Scottish people and kilts though.

My all time favorite war movie. It's Mel gibson in the most epic revenge plot! Must watch.

Violence: there is a lot of violence. there are to scenes that you might want to forward. one scene, is where a cannon goes off and they show the cannon ball take of a guys head. the show him headless for about 2-3 seconds. the second one, is where another cannon goes off, but the cannon ball rolls (at a very high speed) and rips of a guys leg.

Violence: Tons of gore. Everytime someone gets shot there is a blood spray. hatchets get thrown into peoples skulls (pretty gory). People gets their heads blown off by cannon balls (highly gory) and much much more. Not for the faint of heart.
