Okay...uh...this movie is absurd. I couldn't even finish watching it. I preface what I am about to write with this: I have lived in the South. In the deep South. In Mississippi to be precise. I got to know people who grew up in Shreveport, LA--where this movie is purported to take place. So my main problem with the movie is that the setting is unrealistic way way beyond belief. First, nobody in the movie actually talks like they are from Shreveport. Second, the movie makes you think that a "Yankee" in the deep South would be given normal/equal consideration under the law. Nope. Not 10 years ago, not today, and maybe not ever. So the bottom-line is that this film would make sense if it were filmed in Massachusetts--or Minnesota for that matter. But the setting of the deep South makes no sense.
